I am so absolutely humbled by the generous giving of this community, news stations, and even people all the way in other states who have contributed by giving, praying, or sharing. I never expected it to go this far and I cannot even express in words the gratitude I have. I visited with Adrianna today and amidst her pain she made a funny. She said, "I can't thank you all enough. I didn't even know that many people liked me." lol. I said "honey, no one deserves the hand you were dealt." Although she is definitely not the bubbly Adrianna I know right now, she expressed her great appreciation the best she could. She cannot move much except for her left arm, fingers, and toes at the moment. She will be attending her son's funeral this week, heading straight back to the hospital to undergo a second leg surgery, and will be well on her way to recovery soon. :)
On June 6th Adrianna and her 4 year old little boy, Owen, were traveling to see his grandparents. They were hit head on by a drunk driver. Owen lost his precious little life instantaneously and Adrianna is suffering many horrific, painstaking injuries. She will have a very long road to recovery, both physically and emotionally. As anyone can imagine, the funeral expenses and hospital bills will add up very quickly. Although the emotional grief cannot be taken away, this account will aid them in a financial way, hopefully taking one burden off of their shoulders. Thank you for your support to this precious family.
Though we don't know you personally, but your story and the loss of your boy has touched us. We have a 4 year old at SCPS and have probably passed you and Owen by in the hall. The post of his picture outside the classroom is when we first learned of this awful tragedy. My you find peace in the Lord and in the cherished memories of your little boy. We are praying for your peace and recovery!
