Transgender FtM top surgery

My name is Adam, and I am a transman living in the Philadelphia area. I am working to get money together for top surgery with Dr. Kathy Rumer, a top transexual surgeon in the north-eastern United States.

I have been saving up for this surgery for years, after finding that most insurance companies disregard medical professionals and consider anything related to transitioning and the treatment of gender dysphoria to be not medically necessary. And so, while I was in college, I worked every semester as an orientation leader, every open house, and every little event I could, so save up money. After graduating, I was able to make enough money to pay my living expences (which had previously been taken care of by my loving fiance) and tuck a little bit more away for surgery.

I am lucky enough now to work a part-time job for a company whose health insurance company understands my medical needs, and will cover a small percentage of the cost. But, as it turns out, because of the current attitude toward transitioning, I will still need to pay the entire surgical fee up front, my insurance will cut the facility fee down, and help with pre and post-op care.

While I have managed to save up a few thousand dollars for my surgery, I am not even half way there.
Every little bit is greatly appreciated, and together, this expense will be insignificant compared to overwhelming sense of comfort and happiness gained from finally getting this procedure.
