Disabled Mom/Crohn's Son Need Some Help

Hi. My name is Robyn Chaisson and I am writing on behalf of my friend Donna and her son, Alan. They are in dire need of reliable transportation.
Life, sometimes, deals harsh blows. In March of 2009, Donna severely injured her back. Surgery failed, but, Donna never believed her injury would last. She believed, until reality hit...and when it did it hit hard. During that time pain and constant falling from nerve damage severely limited her mobilty. Allergic and unable to tolerate pain medication, she struggled and taught herself alternative ways to cope. She perservered and fought to keep the life they'd found here while working everyday to rebuild her physical abilities until she began to emerge from the tunnel of inevitable grief you feel watching the life you thought you'd have fade into disability.
Then, once again, the sky fell down, when her son, just two weeks before he left for University on merit, scholarships and hard work became ill and was diagnosed at 17 with severe active Crohn's disease. He is currently still awaiting his medication and cannot work as this has effected both his health and nutrition.
This little family needs a break. The need for reliable transportation for them is obvious. The staggering costs of transportation for medical expenses alone have depleted what little they live on, threatening the delicate financial balance that meets basic needs. Please, let them know they aren't alone. This woman, my friend, still a poet and photographer is going to grab the wheel, set their family back on track and use her circumstances to change the lives of those less fortunate.
