Ypsi Grizzly Robotics' FIRST Team 66 qualified for the FIRST in Michigan State Championship!

Thanks to those who donated last year, Team 66 went all the way to the FIRST World Championship!  Team 66 has been very successful again this year, winning the Chairman's Award at the St. Joseph District Competition.   At their next competition at Skyline HS in Ann Arbor, they finished second over all!

Now they are headed to this year's State Championship in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

You can help!  We need your donations to transport Team 66 to Grand Rapids, MI., provide housing for two nights and food for three days for 35 students while they compete with their award winning robot!

Please support Team 66 with a generous donation now! Donations to Ypsilanti FIRST Robotics Boosters, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charity, are tax deductible.

More about Ypsi Robotics:
The Ypsilanti Community Schools FIRST Robotics Program sponsors two FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Teams and one FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team.

FIRST’s (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

Ypsilanti Grizzly Robotics strives to engage our students in experiences that are relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers. The two FRC Teams sponsored by the YCS Robotics Program have won many local, state, and national awards; including the 2002 World Championship and 7 Regional or District Championships. To compete at the highest level, it takes resources beyond the scope of the traditional classroom; it takes dedication and involvement from the community. To develop these engaging programs and be competitive, the YCS Robotics program has a yearly budget of nearly $40,000.

Your donation will help make the FIRST Robotics program at Ypsilanti Community Schools available to more students!  Please take a few moments to consider becoming a part of our team by sponsoring the YCS Robotics Program with your generosity this year.
