Yana desperately needs your help

Hi people who love pets! Our lovely 3 year old Beagle desperately needs your help!
In the last 24 hours (since Sunday, March 5th) we have experienced every pet lover worst nightmare when we noticed our beagle Yana was not walking properly and was in a lot of pain. She was taken to the The Pet Emergency Room and then over the course of a couple of hours her condition deteriorated and she eventually lost use of her back legs completely.

Yana has been diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) which can result in complete paralysis, and this is why immediate action is absolutely key. The intervertebral discs (the cushion in the space between the bones of the spine) have conditions and forces that can make them swell or rupture over time. This rupture leads to two types of damage to the spinal cord, compression and concussion. Damage that is more significant leads to loss of walking or inability to move the legs voluntarily. Severe damage can lead to entire loss of pain sensation.

She is currently at the Southeast Veterinary Neurology waiting to undergo life changing treatment in order to get her back on her paws again. Unfortunately, this surgery does not come cheap so we are looking for help to contribute to the $10,000 of costs of surgery and recovery (hospitalization, medication, therapies, among others). Unfortunately our pet plan at Banfield doesn't cover this kind of treatment - so please make sure you also take some time to check and fully understand the insurance you have for your pets! We have learnt the hard way.
