Travis Mills Foundation Retreat

Help us fund the Travis Mills Foundation (TMF)
Veterans Retreat.  TMF would love to have you join our mission to benefit and assist wounded veterans and their families.

On April 10, 2012, United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne was critically injured on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan by an IED (improvised explosive device) while on patrol, losing portions of both legs and both arms. He is 1 of only 5 quadruple amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive such extensive injuries.

Discovering a new normal for himself and his young family was critical to Travis's recovery.  His motto to "Never Give Up. Never Quit" led Travis to a bigger vision - serving other injured veterans and their families.  To achieve our mission to serve recalibrated warriors, TMF is in the process of renovating an estate property in Maine (formerly owned by cosmetics pioneer Elizabeth Arden) that, once renovated and made fully adaptive, will help  veteran families  recover, relax, and enjoy a wide range of adaptive sports and activities.

We are sincerely grateful for every dollar donated to TMF.  Thank you!

TMF is a 501c(3) non-profit organization.
EIN 46-4239670. All donations are tax deductible.

Travis and the guys from Walter Reed Army Medical Center reunite August 2014.

Future rendering: Maine Chance Lodge

Once pampering the rich and famous, the retreat will have new life and a new purpose ~ serve, support, and pamper our wounded veteran families to accelerate their recovery, help them find their new normal and provide memories that will last a lifetime!

Testimonials from our camp week Summer, 2014:
"You just don't know how wonderful it is to see friends that we made in some of the most stressful times of our lives. It is amazing to see the kids grow up and the guys remaining active. Getting to socialize and catch up in a place like Maine, rather than back at Walter Reed, is a reminder of how far they have come. We loved it!" ~Paige

"My husband lost his legs in Afghanistan.  As these guys return back home, very often, they can feel like they are alone in their battle back to their new normal. Camp week was a highlight for us because Andrew got to hang out with others that have deployed and sacrificed so much. We are extremely grateful for the Travis Mills Foundation for making the entire week about the families healing and relaxing. It was nice to breathe easy and know that all the adaptations that Andrew needed were there for him to enjoy all the various activities. (It) gave Andrew the encouragement he needed to come back home and get back to his pre-injury goals. Thank you for being a blessing to our family. " ~Torie
