1Lt. Timothy Steele who lost his life August 23rd, 2011 while serving with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the 10th Mountain Division in Afghanistan. A graduate of Duxbury High school (Class of 2004) and West Point (Class of 2009), Tim was 25, the husband of Meaghan and the father of 1-year-old Liberty Steele.
In an interview prior to his deployment to Afghanistan, Steele stated that one of the reasons that he was going to war was to ensure a better future for his daughter Liberty. It is a promise that I respectfully ask the community of Duxbury, friends, colleagues, and classmates to help fulfill. This memorial fund, named in 1Lt. Steeleās honor, will distribute all proceeds to Meaghan and Liberty.

My son is 13 years old and has wanted to be in the Army and to become a Ranger since he was 5 years old. He ordered a bracelet from the Ranger Joe's catalog(with his own money) He chose a KIA bracelet not knowing whose name would be on it. It arrived yesterday and we learned about Timothy Steele. He is everything my son wants to be. He is so excited to wear it to school and show it to all of his friends. (but mad that he has to take it off for gym class) I just wanted whomever reads this to know that Timothy will never be forgotten and his story will be told through our family. Our deepest sympathies to those who love him and THANK YOU! The Young Family

Many prayers and thoughts go out to the Steele Family, and especially his wife Meaghan, during this time of sadness. Know that your husband gave his life for his country the ultimate sacrifice and he will be remembered as a hero. As a military spouse myself my heart felt condolenses go out to you and your daughter and his family.
