The JamJar Project is a fundraiser to help students from Super Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan-stricken Leyte, Philippines, who come from financially challenged families, enter college at the Center for Industrial Technology and Enterprise (CITE) in Cebu, Philippines
For a couple of years since we first started the JamJar Project, we have granted scholarships to some CITE students from Leyte through CITE's Tuition and Fees Scholarship and Student Assistance Package. On our 5th year, we were able to put up our first Perpetual Scholarship Trust Fund (PSTF) with the help of our Angels (as our donors and supporters are fondly called).
The PSTF is a fund managed by CITE and composed of the Perpetual scholarships granted to students of the Industrial Technician Program (ITP). The PSTF is managed as an endowment for the ITP. The income from the PSTF provides a permanent yet flexible source of support for the ITP students.
Although we are happy to have put up the PSTF, we do not plan on stopping there. There are so many young students we need to - and hope to - support! As the PSTF only takes care of our scholars' tuition fees, we also need more funds to defray the cost of meals, accommodation, books, and uniforms, among other necessities.
We know we cannot do it alone. Will you help us and our scholars?
