A MESSAGE FROM SARAH STOVER......

I am writing this for my best friend and her family.  Their lives took a drastic change on December 3, 2010. DHS gave them custody of their 2 boys ages 9 and 13. They were removed on November 29 from their mother and step father's home due to a criminal case involving both adults. More than likely the incident will result in parental termination. The boys were unable to bring hardly anything with them to the shelter. I ran to the store and bought socks, shoes, underwear and coats, just enough for the boys to get by. They literally went from a family of three to a family of five pretty much over night.  In order to have enough room for their family they had to move to a bigger home. Their 700 sq foot duplex wasn't functional. By the grace of God their wonderful friends and family came together and helped them move (with nothing prepared or packed) and paid their deposit on their new rent house. Financially stricken, they were unable to have Christmas for the children. Once again God sent family and friends to them and they gave the kids a wonderful Christmas.

They have applied for assistance from the state but are still waiting for a reply. They also have a 6 month old who is currently seeing an endocrinologist. They thought he might have a tumor on his pituitary gland, but they have ruled that out. He is scheduled to go back for further testing. Her husband works 55 hours a week but is on a small salary. Child support is still being taken out of his check. This will stop once they are able to get a court order to do so. They have had to hire an attorney for the process. Their bills have doubled. From rent, deposits, grocery bill, attorney fees, school supplies, utilities they can't seem to make ends meet. They are currently in family counseling, and the boys receive individual counseling due to the change in their lives. They are emotionally scarred from what took place at their last home. Between raising three children, school, doctor's appointments and counseling Amy is not able to hold down a full time job. They are asking at this hard time for many prayers. They are also asking for a small donation to help them with their living expenses. Anything would help them through these tough times. Thank you all for your support. Without their friends and family they wouldn't even be where they are today.
