Tania Tafoya for School Board
Help support the campaign to elect Tania (Genera) Tafoya for Woodland Joint Unified School Board.
Tania is a NEW VOICE for Woodland, whose goal is to increase communication between and among the board, schools, parents and the community.
Those of you who know Tania, know she's a perfect representation of the parents, teachers and citizens in the Woodland district. She's not a career politician and her motives are sincere - she's running for the Woodland Board of Trustees because she wants to contribute to her community and truly believes she can make a difference.
What sets her apart from her competitor is her experience in the schools and classrooms in our community. She worked for the Woodland Joint Unified School District, as a long-term substitute teacher (district-wide), ASES coordinator at Freeman Elementary, and paraprofessional in special education at Zamora Elementary. This experience gives Tania a unique perspective on the students and teachers that she aims to support.
Additionally, Tania has a step-daughter entering Woodland High School this year. While her daughter was at Lee Middle School, Tania served on the School Site Council, which gave her insight, as a parent, regarding school needs and concerns and how board policy impacts students and teachers.
Tania is one of us. She's a mom, she's a former substitute teacher and she's a concerned citizen in our community who wants to make positive changes. Growing up, she attended Zamora Elementary, Lee Middle School and Woodland High School. She received her bachelor's degree in speech pathology from Sacramento State University and comes from a family of educators - both of her parents taught in Woodland schools.
