Young mom's stroke recovery

Donation protected
My name is Aimee and I am the mother of 5 wonderful kids we live in a small town, Bazine Kansas! On September 27th, 2014, at the age of only 33 I suffered a stroke in my brain stem . As  a result I was life watched  to Wichita,  KS for emergency surgery to save my life. The surgery was a success  and I then spent a week recovering in the ICU followed by another week in the regular part of the hospital.  The stroke left my throat temporarily paralized wihich meant I needed a feeding tube inserted into my abdomen for feeding. I also lost a bit of my short term memory and a great deal of strength and muscle mass, from both the stroke and being  bed-ridden. So many people accuse me of faking or not being as bad as I say, when in reality my cognitive and mental abilities are there, it's my body thats let me down. I am constantly feeling as if I am "spinning" similar to when you get off a carnival ride. Even while laying, my world spins. It's so bad I need medicine to prevent me from vomiting if I am going to be up and around long, even something as simple as bathing. If I am upright too long I also end up with a massive, pounding headache, for that my doctor has me on a heavy does of Vicodine, other than the pain reliever my only pain relief is laying flat. As a result of the stroke I lost my job as a day care provider. The depression caused by lossing my day care license (my dream was always to work with children)  and the fact I was the only money maker is hard to cope with. My husband is unable to work because I need round the clock care and observation incase I should have another stroke or seizure. I also rely on him for help with simple daily tasks like making my meals, caring for our young daughter, helping me dress and bathe. For that reason my doctor has attempted to get us signed up for a program that would pay him to stay at home to be my care giver, unfortunatly I won't need his help for more than 6 months so we were denied assistance.I was very fortunate to have great health insurance that has so far paid 80% of my bills which are so far at around $75,000.00. I am responsible for 20% still, which is a still a big amount when you have zero income. Immediately following my hospital stay my doctor declared me temperarily disabled since I can no longer care for myself at times, or my children. I contacted the disability office and was shocked to learn that in order to receive disability payments I must be declared disable for at least 12 months, I'm expected to be disabled for only 6-9 months. I'm grateful that I will be able to get back to work eventually but how am I to pay my bills till then and feed my children? I have applied for various financial hardship programs through my doctors and the hospital, a few of them have programs to have my copays "wrote off" though a few of my medical debts remain my responsibility. Also in addition to my medical bills I still have to figure out how to pay my bills so my children and I can remain in our home. I can not sit or stand for more than 15-30 minutes due to the damage  to my brain stem so getting a job is out of the question, plus my doctor said in my condition it's a horrible idea til I recover. If I weren't in a major bind I would never dream of asking for handouts, but until my doctors clear me for work I have no other options. I honestly have no clue how much money I need for bills and living expenses, but if people could donate a few dollars it will all add up and be greatly appreciated!! I already sent 2 of my 5 kids to stay at their dads house to help lower costs at home, and it hurts me so bad to have done that. So please, out of the kindness of your hearts, help me and my kids out a little during our  time of misfortune!! I thank all of you in advance!!  Please understand that I am not out to get rich, scam anyone or be too lazy to work! All I want is to keep the house my children grew up in and to pay my utilities til I can get my daycare license back or become well enough to be left alone so my husband can attempt to find a job. I have worked full time and paid my fair share of taxes since I was 16, yet I have so far not been approved for cash assistance from the state, and that just seems unfair that as a hard working US citizen my state is not helping me out in a great time of need. If people could donate just $10-$20 that would help keep my house payments and utilities paid. And if you can't donate money please share my story! Someone out there may be able to help me!
