Timothy's Gift is a ministry of our church. Did you watch the video? Is it hard for you to read this because you just cried a lot? If you didn't watch it (long, but worth it!), basically they take hope into prisons.
In 1998, Nashville businessman Ron Miller watched a news report about a Florida boy, Tim Kane, who was charged with murder, tried as an adult, and given two life sentences despite having never touched a single victim. Hearing Tim's certainly unique story lead to the birth of a Non-Profit, Timothy's Gift , that has already touched thousands of lives. What may be most extraordinary about all of this is the hope Tim has sparked all from inside the prison walls.
You may know that Chris will turn 40 this year. That's right, the big 4-0. In true "him" form, he has asked for no party. Lame, right? Then I heard that this trip was happening...and that it was happening ON his birthday.
A team will be going on a Hope Tour March 1-4, and Chris has the opportunity to be a part of this! He, along with many others, will have the chance to go with the artists and provide support with the services...and just showing love by listening to prisoners stories, shaking their hands, and making eye contact. Basically acknowledging their humanity. I can't wait to hear about it from him when he gets back! (Cause you know this life-changing event will be likely mentioned on a blog...)
Next to actually taking the time off, what Chris was most concerned with about this trip was the fundage. But this is where you come in! I would love to see 48 friends give just $10 each for this. And bam, there it would be! Please consider this birthday gift for Chris. (And make me feel better about not throwing him a big shebang.)
