Help save Mr. Ollie's Life!

On Monday, September 9th, 2013 at 9:45 am, Oliver the cat decided to jump on a shelf to snack on some lilies. By some miracle, his owner had been given the day off from work and heard audible chomping coming from the kitchen. Oliver ingested 7 leaves from a Red Lily - arguably the most toxic foliage he could have possibly decided to munch on.

By 10 am a phone call had been made to ASPCA's poison control line which charged $65 to declare the inevitable: Ollie had to have his system flushed out ASAP or else all kidney function would cease, leading to his eventual from passing renal tubular necrosis.

Minutes after a verbal diagnosis was given, Ollie was rushed to Androscoggin Animal Hospital where he was immediately given morphine to induce vomiting. Over an hour passed with no effect.

To prevent any more absorption of the toxins, Ollie has been given activated charcoal. He is also undergoing 48 hours of aggressive intravenous fluid therapy and ongoing kidney monitoring tests.

Over all, his medical bills will total in excess of $500 (and we haven't even reached day two!). I am reaching out to fellow animal lovers for assistance with these bills! We want Ollie to get the best care possible and ensure all his bases are covered when it comes to health care.

Thank you for all your thoughts and consideration thus far! We will provide updates as we receive news!

Love and purrs,
Mr. Ollie
