Community Church Needs Help

HISTORICAL INNER CITY MINISTRY FACES FORECLOSURE CRISIS

For nearly twenty four years Redemptive Life Fellowship has served its local community with a spectrum of educational and social services which have benefitted thousands of needy children and families. Sadly, all of these beneficial services could now come to a screeching halt!

Due to continued economic hardship upon its primary constituency, as well as a substantial donor base decline, the ministry now faces imminent foreclosure of its bond financed first mortgage debt totaling Three Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($3,500,000).

Despite innovative and progressive management and downsizing strategies activated by its leadership, the ministry is located in the heart of two of Palm Beach County’s statistically documented below poverty zip codes. This has created two major issues for the churches financial condition: (1) insufficient economic support base to maintain basic operational needs and (2) a chilling effect upon potential developers interested in purchasing a portion of ministries pristine lakefront property.

“It has become remarkably obvious that in order to maintain the ministry, we have to look beyond ourselves and humbly look for compassionate supporters who both believe in and can give avert our crisis,” said Senior Pastor, Bishop Harold Calvin Ray.

From its inception, this institution has served as a lighthouse to the community by providing a life changing worship experience, world class community based social and health services, award winning educational training for pre-school and elementary children, and presented nationally recognized seminars, symposiums and training opportunities since 1994.

Foreclosure would result in the loss of its 15.8 acre lake front property site, including its state of the art 42,000 sq. foot physical facility which it constructed in 1993. In addition, many of the programs and outreaches described below, previously successfully operated with excellence by the ministry, are now either suspended or altogether terminated:

(1)    Community and Economic Development Initiatives resulting in millions of dollars of quality affordable housing constructed in one of Palm Beach County’s most impoverished communities.

(2)    Comprehensive Health Initiatives directed at amelioration of health maladies disproportionately impacting minority populations, with emphasis upon a Palm Beach County pandemic in youth HIV/AIDS transmission.

(3)    Interventional Youth Programs including (1)a highly successful Midnight Basketball program, (2) one of the State’s most innovative Debutante and Squire training programs, (3)computer literacy training, (4)after school programs, (5)  arts, drama and a myriad of socially beneficial preparatory initiatives addressing acute “at risk” maladies.

(4)    The Gifts In Kind Community Distribution Warehouse providing an in-kind distribution network for nearly 100 501 c 3 organizations within a tri-county region  availing those organizations with much needed office supplies, goods & materials and direct personal care items for their respective social service constituencies of need.

(5)    HIS DAILY BREAD FOOD PANTRY, serving nearly 2,000 Palm Beach County families per month with fresh meats, vegetables, dry goods and staples as they deal with the growing incidence of food insecurity, now recognized as a major issue in Palm Beach County.

(6)    Redemptive Life Academy –providing award winning educational excellence from Pre-K through elementary school levels from 1994 through 2010. The School is currently being reformed as a lifestyle excellence based institution introducing and integrating educational curriculum in aviation, media and internet technologies, business enterprise and global economics.

(7)    Entrepreneurial Enterprise Initiatives providing training and development of business acumen, and a support network for commercial ventures birthed as a result of such training.

(8)    A prototypical Debutante / Squire training academy instructing preschool thru high school age males and females in social graces, social responsibility and the development of a life plan and personal mission statement.

Today, the ministry now faces an “all or nothing” proposition: Pay its mortgage in full or lose everything! Consequently, it seeks the immediate funding of its total indebtedness of $3,370,000.00 through a combination of (1) direct donor support, and  (2) sale and or joint development of a portion of  its 15.8 acre property.
