Dear Community,
Not everyone in our local community can afford to have a turkey on Thanksgiving Day. Knowing this, last year ESU students started Project Turkey in response and raised $8,200 to help fund Thanksgiving turkeys for over 700 families in need. Through fund raising events including collecting donations at football games, a lip synching contest, bagging groceries at Shoprite and encouraging families to donate, students were able to participate through service to our community.
Feeding families in need is a community responsibility, and this year, the East Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg community will have the opportunity to join ESU students in this initiative to help provide Thanksgiving turkeys for these families. For a small monetary donation of $20.00 per turkey, or any donation at all, this philanthropic initiative gives students a way to give back to the community and develop leadership through service to others.
