Dreamality

Dreamality. A proposal for a one of kind festival on the grounds of the Abandoned Six Flags in New Orleans, Louisiana. As part of submitting an official proposal, the Industrial Development Board requires a deposit of 5,000 dollars. Our goal is to get at least 1000 of our supports to give us 5 dollars each to reach our goal and make Dreamality an official proposal. The site has been abandoned since being devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The Dreamality vision is an official celebration for the city of New Orleans and its resurrection since Hurricane Katrina. Not just a music festival in the abandoned Six Flags. The site has recieved more attention after the park's demise since it did before. Dreamality wants to continue that by adding this unique festival there and adding onto the music history New Orleans holds. Dreamality wouldn't be the only thing going on at the park. It will be able to allow movies to be shot at the park like it has been the past couple years. Movies such as: Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, Killer Joe, and the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes set to release this summer. Also, making its much antcipated return to big screens everywhere, Jurassic Park 4 will use the park for filming in June. This park has become an unofficial historic landmark for the city of New Orleans. Over the past 9 years its become one of the top urban exploration sites in the country. There is only one proposal for the park and it is to build another theme park on the site. Now, there is nothing wrong with that, but it raises a few questions. This land has not be kind to its previous developers. Jazzland was the first to bring a theme park to the area, but had to sell the park to Six Flags due to dwindling visiting numbers causing the company to go bankrupt. Six Flags New Orleans was one of the worst parks in its portfoilio with it being stated that location was the main issue. The park is located in the 9th ward which is notoriously known to be dangerous. It is well away from the bright city lights of New Orleans and other attractions in the city such as the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. Before Katrina, Six Flags was starting to see the same fate Jazzland had which made it that much easier for Six Flags to not bring back the park after Katrina. The park has seen many proposals, but all fell through. The biggest company to come forward with a proposal was Nickelodeon, but in the end it turned out it cost too much money to bring the park back. The main reason for this seems to be the extensive cost of recycling and removal of rides. So why pay so much money to remove rides and other unsalvagable items, restoring items in the park, and building a whole new park when history shows this spot has not succeded in the past. Another vision for Dreamality is to use portions of the money the festival makes is to also do what other developers over the years have done which is restoring the park. Its a dream within another dream. To put on a unique festival at a venue never seen before and bringing back the Six Flags site in a way never before imagined. Dreamality made a twitter just a little over a month ago and has recieved over 1600 followers with followers from 40 different states and over 25 different countries. There is no denying that people would come to this spectacle.  Help make Dreamality, Reality. Be one of the 1000 and donate just 5 dollars to make Dreamality become reality.
