Welcome and thank you! I want to start by saying we appreciate the support we have received more than you know. I never imagined having to start a page like this or ever have to have to think about these things. Alyssa has been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called ALPS. Over the last year and half so much money has been spent on appointments and hospital stays, time lost from work, and I guess I never realized how much it could add up. So someone recommended that I start this page for Alyssa. To help cover some of these expenses. Especially since right now we are not sure what the future holds.
But I do want everyone to know, I am choosing to speak up for her. I'm choosing to fight for my daughter, so maybe one day she won't have to fight so hard! I'm choosing to show her that something's happen as an opportunity for you to make a change and make a difference. I'm going to fight till I can't fight anymore. There's no reason for the statistics to be so high for autoimmune but there is limited resources, not much awareness, and even less answers. Imagine being told your life expectancy is 15 years less because of something you genetically inherited. To live in constant pain. To have a body that fights itself. How would you cope? Wouldn't you want a voice, some support, fundraisers, walks, ribbons, something more? That's all I'm asking for. And I will travel to the ends of the earth if I have to...this is my Alyssa Bug.
