Meet Our House, the only licensed child development center and youth program specifically targeted to homeless and near-homeless families. With over 14,000 homeless children in Arkansas each year, Arkansas is the 3rd worst state in the country for child and family homelessness. Our House is the only program in Arkansas that meets all the needs of homeless families. Families of any size can stay together, including single fathers with kids.

These programs make it easier for parents to find and keep a full-time job, the cornerstone requirement of the programs, but they also give Our House the chance to invest time, energy, and resources to help children thrive emotionally, developmentally, and academically. The new Children’s Center serves 150 children every day. It provides youth ages 6-17 a safe, consistent, and comfortable place to learn and grow.

With fall coming around, many low-income families have difficulty meeting back to school needs. Our Club hosts a drive for the kids in the Our Club program to ensure these kids get the supplies needed to succeed in school. Much needed items include boys’ school uniforms: khaki and navy pants and polo shirts (long sleeve and short sleeve) in colors red, navy blue, light blue, and white (sizes 5-14). Girls’ uniforms khaki and navy pants/skirts and polo shirts (long sleeve and short sleeve) in colors red, navy blue, light blue, and white (sizes 5-14). Many school supplies are also needed: backpacks, boxes of tissue, glue sticks, markers, scissors, lined paper, notebooks, folders, pencils, erasers, pens, calculators, compasses, and protractors.

The money raised from this campaign will go towards purchasing many of these items for low-income Arkansas children. We want to make sure these kids get the necessary tools to get them excited about school, and to thrive in the classroom.
