Funds for Veggie Power Diesel Motor

Brandon DelCastillo and Amelia Auman are setting out on an adventure of a lifetime. Facing high rent, costs of living and economic/politcal instabilty, American life has become harder and less enjoyable. Unsatistifed with this reality, working the same routine jobs to barely afford housing and an exciting lifestyle is something we are no longer interested in maintaining. We, you, every person on this planet are creators of their own reality. It is only when we blindly follow the path that others wish for us to follow, do we lose sight of this realization. We are setting out to create an alternative lifestyle that is more affordable, fulfilling, mobile and adventurous than our current. We have started the enormous project of restoring a 1977 Dodge RV with hopes to get on the road in search of our new home. Home being anywhere we park it. Without the overhead of high rent or debt, our vision is to tour the country following seasonal work as well as starting our own business. This is how we wish to make a living.
The RV restoration is underway and coming along. There was alot of water damaged caused by age and neglect that we have repaired already. However, a crucial part to making this RV more efficient is to convert the gas powered 360 small block V8 to a more powerful and economical Cummins 4bt or 6bt turbo diesel. Our RV is a 22ft class C that has  GVWR of 10,000 lbs which probably gets around 10 MPG. With the turbo diesel we should be able to get our MPG to the 20s and have the option of running veggie oil or bio deisel which could help with cost and be less environmentally harmful. These engines go for around 3-5k on ebay and we would need a professional shop to install it which would be a few grand extra.  We are operating on a tight budget at the moment so we are putting our vision out there and asking for help by crowdfunding. The money donated will go directly to purchasing the Diesel engine and a go pro camera for documentation. This project is already rolling and will continue wether the goal is reached or not. Anyone that wishes to have their donations returned if our goal is not met will be refunded.
We are currently setting up a blog and facebook page (Nomadical) for our endevor and intend to document this process exstensively through photos, videos, and written entries. We want to share it with our friends, family and the public in hopes of inspiring other people to create their own reality, or help them along with a vision similar to ours.

This is what the RV looked like when we bought it in the Summer 2014. Not too bad for a 77.
Drove it down from NewLondon, CT to Nyack, NY with rusted rotors and a frozen brake caliper.
Replaced both front rotors, calipers and wheel bearings.
When we removed the aluminum siding we found that all of the original plywood siding was rotted from water leaking from the roof.
Amelia Badelia removing the rusted factory staples after removing the old plywood.
Installing new foam board insulation and mounted new plywood to mark out the hole for windows and vents.
Removed the roof panels to replace the rotted roof plywood and tacky ceiling and bathroom wall panels.

As of Nov 18, 2014 this is where we are at with the restoration. We use every bit of time we have off of our jobs to work on the RV. We will update this post as we progress. Thank you all for taking the time to look at our fund raiser. Please donate if you wish or simply share. We would love your feedback , thoughts and questions about our project. Peace, love and live your dreams!
