Help Fix Nicole's Broken House

Donation protected
Nicole remains in an RV almost 2 years after the storm in 2012 despite having flood insurance.  How can you help?  You can donate to her recovery.  If we all skip one night out with family/friends and donate instead, we can get her out of the RV and into a heated house before the winter.

Here is the latest post by the family:

So, as you know - we're still living in an RV waiting on the government to allow us to begin repairing our Sandy damaged homes (father/stepmom and ours). It's almost 2 years later and frankly, it's taking it's toll on all of us. We have been working to repair another family home (not needing to be raised) in an effort to move all of us into it while we wait for our own homes to be repaired. It's not large, but it's better than all of us stuffed in an RV for another winter. I hate to even ask, but in all seriousness, we need help and I do not know where to turn.

We need:
- $2,700 to get an already discounted kitchen (1st priority).
- Masonry work: entrance stairs, walkways.
- Installation of a french drain and sumps (we have pumps)
- Floor sanding/refinishing services or tools to do it ourselves
- Lowes/Home Depot Cards: for paint, tile, grout, moldings, etc.

We have already replaced all of the electrical, all of the plumbing, the entire hvac system, all of the damaged windows, all of the sheetrock, all of the insulation, and so much more. We have contacted every "sandy recovery" group, sold everything possible to raise funds, spent all cash reserves on trades & materials, put in countless hours of sweat equity and will continue to do so... but these items are things we need help accomplishing.  If you are skilled in any of these needs, please... please... please... let us know.

Here you will find the family's story and see updates.

"May you fix my house? It's still broken" she said to Governor Christie.

Since Superstorm Sandy, little Nicole has experienced loss and chaos unlike anything a now four year old should have to think about. She's spent half of her life living in an RV, looking at her broken house, and wants to go home.

Nicole's home is stuck in the RREM process. Her mom fights every day to recover and the financial drain has been enormous. While her Mom fights for answers from the government grant programs and insurance, Nicole's previous way of life has been almost completely forgotten. They have lost income, health insurance, and most of their possessions. Flood and homeowners insurance, religiously paid for, will be taken by RREM.

This fund was created to provide crucial support to her and her family, and every little bit counts. Should you wish to donate towards the family's recovery, you are welcome to do so in any way you see fit; be it monetarily, with donated labor, donated materials, gift cards, a hot meal, or even with emotional support (which is so very important).

The recovery process is a long one. Recovery will not come overnight, but with prayers, support and some luck... they will indeed recover.

Thank you.
