Almost 4 million newborns die each year around the world. About 98% of the deaths are from countries with limited resources. Primarily sub-Saharan Africa and Asia and result from only 3 causes: premature births, infection, and birth asphyxia.
We are five Senior Biomedical Engineering Students at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) working on our Senior Design Project titled as the Neonatal NeoWarm System that will decrease premature baby deaths. We are raising money to do research on making a bridge technology for Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) and hospital incubation in Third World Countries.
