My Baby Beagle's Medical fund

Donation protected
Hello thanks for visiting!!

My little baby chase has come up so much better thanks to everyone's donations. I have been contacted by a number of press and have been asked to share my story an help my donations increase.

Because my baby is getting better and he life long treatment he is going to need is affordable for me, I'd feel bad taking any more donations however, id still love to donate any further donations to charities who fund for

-Beagle pain syndrome

-meningitis for dogs

-saving the animal testing on beagles

-RSPCA

My amazing vet told me that the scans and spinal fluids arnt necessary Due to the impact of the medication he is on. He is getting better each day and I can't thank everyone enough. I'd love to help save another dogs life as nearly losing him and see him in so much pain has made me realise how important dogs are to an owners life.

I have left my story below so you are all welcome to read through. X

Hello thank you for visiting my page. My name is Grace Boyd and i'm from liverpool. i am 18 years of age and have recently been hit with some heart breaking news.

On the 24th March 2015, we got a little beagke puppy and called him Chase. Chase was only 9weeks when we picked him up  from manchester and brought him into his new home in Formby. He Settled in straight away and  i felt an instant connection with him, as did my Mum. We didnt plan on keeping him as we had a friend who wanted him however, we fell inlove with him and couldnt give him away.

After weeks of waiting to take him out for a walk after his jabs and to see the beautiful beach for the first time, we really did begin to understand why they're called 'naughty beagles'.

We had a week of leather where everything leather was destroyed, a week of wood where all the furniture was chewed, loss of possessions then finding them half dug up in the garden, and the hardest, most annoying thing was the house training. Despite all of this hard work, we got twice as much joy back out of him.

He had puppy food, more toys than any puppy needed, and a large expensive dog bed however id always be too soft and let him sleep with me. He was the most happiest, pleasent and healthiest dog you could even begin to imagine.

Anyone who has met my Chasey will agree.

Watching him learn new things, new tricks, exploring the garden, the beach, the world and watching him grow has been the best 5 months ever. We recetly bought a paddling pool as he always jumps in the bath with me and just loves water. He LOVES swimming and loves the water.

Everything was going great and was told after a checkup in the vets that he's a really happy healthy dog. Fantastic around kids and so affectionate.

After an amazing 5 months of this ray of sunshine had come into ourlives, i took him to an emergency vet appointment as this ray of sunshine wasnt shining anymore. An hour before he was playing in the garden, burring bones and stealing bread from the birds and burying that too, i come home from work and he could barly move.

Everytime i touched his neck/spine he cried. The life and light in his eyes had gone. He didnt run to the door and he was in alot of pain. Shivering from head to paw however had a reasonably high temperate. I was scared and they say no one knows sometimes not right than the owner/mother.

I managed to get him into the car and took him to the vets. The vet gave him an anti-imflammatory injection and an anti-biotic injection and said that he's convinced with all the symptoms it is Meningitis

He asked if i could come back tomorrow so i did. All night and day Chase seemed to be in agony, didnt eat, didnt drink and barly moved. His tail wasnt wagging and he looked in so much pain. Me and my Mum went back the next evening and he explained what would happen, and that his dog had the same thing however magically pulled through it with the right steriods etc. The treatment Chase needs isnt going to be cheap however, it is life threatning illness which is inherited genetically apparently. I didnt understand how within the space of an hour my poor baby boy could have fallen so ill but the vet explains it can happen when they get to around 6 months.

I spent the whole night crying, me or Chase didnt sleep and i just wanted to take all of his pain away from him and get my little puppy back to normal.

6 months of steriods and regular check ups etc from the vets is essential for the survival of my puppy.

Unfortuanly, at the end of may his 2 month insurence ran out and we didnt get round to re-newing it. With deep regret and anger towards myself this leaves me with the full responsibilty of the payment of his bill.

I have never set up anything like this before however i have donated. A number of my friends and family have sent lovely messages and advice in joining a fund raising website for Chase.

We have tried to Cancel our 2 week holiday to stay at home with him during this horrible time however it was not possibleI want to make the most of my baby and if theres a limitied time left of his life i want to make sure im there every second of every day.

I Have no idea how much the Vet Bills are going to cost but from others, i've heard its in the couple of £1,000's.

We are trying our best to take on more and more hours in work even though both me and my mum are students.

I would love even any sort of advice from anyone who has expericed a similar story and would extrememly appriciate any donations towards my Baby boy even just 1p. Every penny, prayer, advice counts!

Prayes and wishes would also be amazing as i just want him to pull through this.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
