On Monday, March 9th, early on a rainy morning, we lost the love of my life and the most wonderful mother to my two boys, Pierce and Caul. To say that Michelle Hearne was an amazing, funny, loving, stubborn, give-the-shirt-off-your-back kinda girl is quite an understatement. As we are sitting here sharing with family and friends, remembering the little details that made Michelle who she was, we realize how tremendous this hole in our hearts will forever be.
Until today, I didn't know this type of thing was possible, but it was suggested to me that instead of receiving a ton of plants and flowers that will wilt under the care of these three boys struggling to find their new reality, perhaps instead all these well-wishing loved ones might prefer to donate to the cost of her final arrangements and the future of the family she left behind.
Any funds donated will be lovingly used to help cushion any surprising financial blows and anything remaining will be added to the boys' college funds already existing.
I know Michelle was the light of our lives in this house. She's been my sweetheart and wife of 25 years. I'm hearing from all her friends about the impact she had in their lives as well, and I know in times like these people search for ways that they can help, or something they can do to reach out. For Michelle, her boys' future would be foremost in her mind if she knew she wouldn't be here to do it herself.
