Hebron United Methodist Church has a long history — part of the current structure dates back to 1861. The "newer" piece of the building, built in 1925, is uninhabitable due to strutural deficiencies, keeping parishioners out of the sanctuary and putting the future of the church at risk.
It's a small and intimate church, welcoming of all and serving as a guiding light for many in the community.
It's also a church dedicated to the service of others — the primary driving force for many of the congregants.
Claiming our Future - Living Our Faith
We're asking for help to rebuild and repair our church — total estimates for the repair work are north of $200,000. But in doing so, we're truly "living our faith" as Methodists and dedicating 1/2 of everything we earn to other local charities that deliver undeniable benefits to the community.
Those are the perks/incentives of this campaign: by giving to the church, you're also giving to the community.
And if we hit our goal of $5,000, we'll pick another charity and stretch the goal to $10,000. And so on, and so on.
Alden Hebron School District #19
Our first charity partner is the Alden Hebron School District #19 library. If we can raise a total of $5,000, we'll put $2,500 to the roof and deliver $2,500 to the library. Library funds would be used for books for both the elementary and middle/high school libraries. All district students would benefit.
