Who am I?
I’m Maureen, the owner of Little Chickadee Bakery, LLC. I’m at a point in my life where I’m starting over, and couldn’t be happier about it! Life is full of possibilities and new beginnings! My life passion is baking. When I’m stressed, I bake. If I’m sad, I bake. Best way to say thank you? Basket ‘o baked yums. Basically, I express my love with butter and sugar. I feel it’s a pretty good way to live life!
What this campaign all about?
I am opening a bakery based in my home. I won’t be specializing in gluten free, paleo, or vegan foods – I believe in good ‘ol butter and sugar to get the job done, and those who have tasted my yums happen to agree! While I fully agree that living healthy is important, I believe that part of being healthy is being happy and enjoying life. For me, enjoying life includes making yummy baked goods and sharing them with others!
What’s my plan?
At the end of the month (October) I’ll be moving into a new living space with work space to set up a kitchen. The space has a basic layout of cabinets, counters, electric, and plumbing, but that’s all. As for the rest…hopefully that’s where you come in! I’ll need the necessities of a kitchen (like an oven and a fridge), baking-specific necessities (a really good mixer), and then all the fundamentals for baking (measuring cups, mixing bowls, baking pans). Your donations will help me get all the things I need to give this bakery the best start I can.
How can you help?
Donate. Donate what you feel comfortable donating just because you’re awesome and you are able to share. I hate to ask for money, but it’s what makes the world go ‘round. Simple fact is that to make this dream a reality, I need help. So dig thru those pockets and look for loose change! (kidding)
Seriously now, any amount that you can donate towards bringing this bakery to life is appreciated more than I can say. As I said before, I express things by baking, so look over the thank you gifts for the different donor levels. If you have suggestions, or want to change something about a gift when you donate, let me know and we can make that happen.
Also, as an extra added incentive to donate, keep in mind the faster the goal is reached, the sooner I'm up and running. That $75 Cookie Sampler reward? I would LOVE to make that a Holiday Cookie Tray! If we meet our goal by November, it could happen!
Why should you help?
This is the hardest question, and one I’ve thought a lot about. What makes me different than the umpteen thousand other people who love to bake and dream of making a living doing what they love? I think the best answer to that is simply because of who I am as a person, and what this bakery means to me. I’ve been given a fresh start, a second go at life, and I am absolutely determined to make the most of it! Little Chickadee Bakery is going to be amazing, and you can help make that happen!
