Legacy of Love from Corran ‘Coz’ Powell.

In life, he was dedicated to helping others.
In death, he saved lives.

Help us buy the land to realize his dreams now that he's no longer here to dream them.

His long term plan was to buy land on which he could:
·        Offer a free venue for charity events

·        Run outdoor survival courses to empower and build      confidence for disadvantaged young people

·        Host musical events to give new musicians a chance to perform.

Something that he never considered but we feel sure he would approve of is to offer a woodland site where other bereaved parents can inter their children’s remains in a natural setting (no trees in straight lines allowed!) A place of life dedicated to the young.

On the 7th December 2014, our son, Corran ‘Coz’ Powell set off to give his friend James a lift home. He never came back.  Another car crossed onto the wrong side of the road and hit his vehicle head on. James, aged 18yrs, died at the scene. Coz was airlifted to hospital with multiple injuries including traumatic brain injuries and died 8 days later without regaining consciousness.

Organ Donor Coz, donated his liver, kidneys and pancreas, enabling 2 people to make it home in time for Christmas. He also donated stem cells and other samples to various research projects to help save lives. His heart became part of the Papworth DCD research (donation after circulatory death) which recently resulted in Europe’s first non-beating heart transplant, thereby helping countless others.

He loved his music, whether it was listening, playing or encouraging his peers at Sound Academy, a charity funded music shool. He wanted to expand on Sound Academy’s work and be able to offer an open air venue for new bands. In June we are hosting a celebration of their lives which will give their Sound Academy friends a chance to perform in an all-day event in Coz and James’ honour.

He worked as a Lifestyle Enabler for an autistic gentleman, volunteered at Braintree Mencap and was doing an accountancy course. Because of this, he was very aware of the exorbitant fees charged by some venues for charitable events and wanted to be able to offer charities a venue where they could keep what they raised.

He was a passionate and dedicated hardcore gamer.  He also enjoyed physical games and wanted a place where children who didn’t have his opportunities could relax and learn to love the countryside. He loved being active outdoors and having been introduced to woodland survival was passionate about the skills and confidence it gave him. He was saving to buy land on which he could run his own survival and woodcraft courses and teach other young people to understand, be safe in and respect our countryside.

He believed in the values of respect, responsibility, self-control, honesty, compassion, perseverance, humility, loyalty, forgiveness and unconditional love.

The land he loved and built his plans around has come up for sale and we want to fulfil Cozzie’s dreams in his name. We have the skills and knowledge to set up the kind of Centre that Coz had in mind but we do not have the money, we may lose the chance to purchase his ‘Special Place.’

Coz was only 5’1” tall when he was taken from us; a little man with a big heart. The man he was had enough love in that heart for everyone, regardless of age, colour, creed or ability. The man he was to become would have continued to help others through his ultimate dream. Please donate to help us further this wonderful young man’s legacy. Share it wherever you can, Like it wherever you see it and help Coz to continue to help others.
