Writing competition with iffy brakes

The best way to describe LJ Idol would be something along the lines of "if a writing competition took place on a reality show held on a rollercoaster with iffy brakes".
We started in 2006 and have hundreds of people every "season" come through the doors, improving their craft, making friends and above all, writing their fingers to the bone.
Fortunately for me, and unfortunately for the competition, my life has gotten a lot more involved and complicated in the last few years, with these things called "family" and "responsibilities", not to mention these insane demands they call "bills". Which means we have reached a point where I can't spend all of my available time in front of a computer. Or rather, if I do, I should probably be doing something that pays a few bills.
In this specific case, my internet and some outstanding medical bills. I want to keep giving the writers this experience for free, because let's face it, creative types and money don't tend to go hand-in-hand! But perhaps there are people out there who want to support this sort of insanity!
