The Ladyz in Noyz Australia national tour will see a group of female sound, noise and experimental artists perform, host workshops and panel discussions as well as launch Ladyz in Noyz Australia Vol. I & II, a comprehensive 2-disc compilation.
LINA are special guests at this year’s This Is Not Art festival.
The tour will travel to Bendigo, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Newcastle to celebrate five years of Ladyz in Noyz Australia performances and 2 CD releases.
Ladyz in Noyz (international) was founded by UK via Baltimore artist Marlo Eggplant, a prominent figure in the diverse international scene of experimental music and curator of the pioneering Ladyz in Noyz compilation series, an ongoing project from 2008 to the present. She will be taking part as mentor, performer and guest speaker.
Ladyz in Noyz Australia events were initiated in 2011 by Melbourne via Adelaide musician and sound engineer Lara Soulio as a branch of Ladyz in Noyz. LINA has performed nationally, featured on 3cr Radio’s Women On The Line, Arts Express and launched Ladyz in Noyz Vol. 1 at Sound Summit/TINA, The Gasometer Hotel, The Red Rattler, The Metro and The Old Bar.
Artists involved in the tour are Carolyn Connors, Edwina Stevens, Emma Albury, Fjorn Butler, Freya Adele, Harriet Morgan, Iran Sanadzadeh, Katie Martin, Kusum Normoyle, Lara Soulio, Laura Altman, Marlo De Lara, Maya-Victoria Kjellstrand, Rosalind Hall and Sharryn Koppens.
Funding will go towards promotion of the tour, flights, train tickets and venue fees and will ensure that all door takings go directly to the artists.
The target amount is half of the budget included in our Australia Council application. The June grant round was cancelled and has affected many individuals and existing programs. We need your help to keep tours like this hapening in Australia.
The first 10 supporters will receive a copy of LINA Vol 1&2. Prizes will be annouced throughout the campaign!
