Let It Grow Greenhouse

Over the last several years, the Junior League of Duluth has been planting seeds and laying the groundwork for our "Let it Grow" programming focused on establishing a food secure community. We have cultivated key community partners and participated in foundational discussions. Our shared vision will transform a part of the Denfeld neighborhood of West Duluth.
We are BUILDING A GREENHOUSE!!!!
We are working closely with community partners comprising Edible Duluth Denfeld: including the City of Duluth, Community Action Duluth, the Duluth Community Garden Program, the Healthy Duluth Area Coalition, the Whole Foods Co-op, and the Zeitgeist Center for Arts and Community and Lincoln Park Fair Food Access.
Our primary role in this project is to support Community Action Duluth programming by raising money to build a Greenhouse for Seeds of Success. This greenhouse will allow Seeds of Success to extend their growing season and offer transitional employment to more people. Not only will we be building a greenhouse to help solve issues of food access and insecurity, but we will be designing a suite of educational programming to build awareness and skills.
Ultimately the greenhouse and Denfeld site will be a catalyst for educational and advocacy programming targeting JLD membership and the wider community through the local schools, community centers, and local businesses.
