Looking Back at Tomorrow is an archive that is dedicated to preserving the memory of Horizons. As most of you already know, I started this archive knowing that with every passing year, the memory of Horizons fades more and more into oblivion.
I've been getting a lot of feedback from blog readers and facebook friends asking how they can help, so I decided to start this page in order to spread awareness about the archive, and to give you an opportunity to help the archive grow!
What started out as just a digital archive has grown to include many Horizons related items that have either been donated by friends, like the Epcot Center Preview Center brochures or purchased on eBay, like the lot of 22 Horizons blueprints. As the archive continues to expand, here are a few items that I need:
-Protective covering for blueprints
-Storage containers for organizing
-Scrapbooks for postcards, pictures, and brochures
-Office supplies, (labels, tape, etc.)
-Restoration supplies
I would also like to expand the reference section of our archive to include as many books and magazines about EPCOT Center and Horizons as possible.
Even being able to get something as simple as a small digital camera specifically used for the archive would help me to document and organize the items, without having to worry if my personal phone has enough memory when I take my research trips to Epcot.
As a Horizons lover, you know there's nothing more painful than seeing a piece of Horizons history, and having to let it slip through your fingers. Together, honorary Horizons historians like us can keep the memory from fading away forever. With your help, memories of Horizons will continue to live on and precious Horizons memoribilia will be saved from the tragic fate of forever rotting in a landfill.
