Tommy Goodin age 8 (yes 8 standing at 4'8" and 98lbs.) made the USA 10U Baseball team. His USA team will be competing in the Latin American Baseball Classic 2014. The Latin American Baseball Classic is one of Latin America's biggest baseball tournaments. 5000+ players try out for the 9-18U USA-LABC teams annually at 22 national tryout events held all across the United States.

Six of ten nations are now confirmed for the Latin American Baseball Classic in the Dominican Republic next August. Confirmed are: Dominican Republic, British Virgin Islands, St. Croix, USA, Canada and Venezuela with multiple teams. Columbia, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Aruba have been invited and the LABC is waiting confirmation.

The tournament is from August 6-12th, 2014.

Tommy is a hard worker both on and off the baseball field. Tommy is an A student and plays baseball all year around. His dream to play baseball often has him missing things like birthday parties, play dates and other extracurricular activities. Funny thing is Tommy doesn't mind missing such things!! Tommy is in the gym two-three mornings a week with trainer, Jeremy White, at 6am where he trains on agility and weights. Tommy works on two hours of homework a day from a highly academic school in Chatsworth, CA. He works out on the baseball fields four days a week with tournaments 2 of 4 weekends a month. Both at VSA in Chatsworth, CA and with his travel team The San Fernando Valley Saints. He also participates in league play at a local pony field. He really wants to play baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers someday.

In his spare time you will find Tommy hitting rocks with sticks, batting baseballs into the net in the backyard, watching baseball on television or playing Minecraft.

During this tournament Tommy will have the opportunity to collect and donate used baseball equipment to the players in the Dominican Republic. Tommy will be working on the humanitarian front to collect used baseball gear and to take the extra equipment to hardworking, underprivileged children of Dominican Republic. The baseball gear donations may be more than expected so it is the family's plan to donate the excess to low income leagues in the Los Angeles area.

Tommy's family balances academics with baseball. Hard work goes into providing for both the financial and time commitment that this level of baseball and study require. The family is humbled by being offered this opportunity to represent the United States of America overseas and really need the assistance of the community to make Tommy's baseball dream a reality.

This is an "once in a lifetime" experience and there is hope that with your help, Tommy will be able to represent the United States and assist the team in bringing home a national victory!

Tommy needs the assistance of his village.

Tommy Works Hard, Tommy Plays Hard, Tommy Gives Hard!

Assist with getting Tommy to the Dominican Republic this summer. The funds raised will go to cover fees for travel, extra baggage and lodging.

Sincerely, Thank you so much for your time and support of Tommy!
