Calling Holy Family Girls.... Class of 1988 & 1989
George ("Georgie") Tenety, the younger brother of Meredith Tenety McGrath (HFA '88) and Sharyn Tenety Alban (HFA '89), and the son of George Tenety (Sr) who was the HFA Father of the Year several times, passed away this morning (2/2/2015) after a long battle with cancer. Georgie leaves behind countless friends and extended family and his beautiful wife Shannon and two adorable little girls.
In August 2011, Georgie was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. After going through the traditional treatment routes, he became his own medical advocate, researching alternative therapies and continued to fight with all he had. Georgie fought valiantly over the past few years, but today, Warrior George rests, and has been reunited with his mother, who they lost so long ago.
And now... the hard part. Family and friends of this brave man must pick up the pieces and learn to live every day without him. At times like this, so many of us want to help, but feel so limited in what we can say and what we can do.
But this is the least we can do. A couple of us Holy Family girls got together to set up this site so that we, the Tenetys' HFA family, can offer a little financial assistance to Georgie's family. I'm sure you know, or can imagine, that Georgie's medical care was quite expensive, as are final expenses, and of course life expenses for his wife and daughters, so let's all give a hand.
Please give generously, and please pass this on.
Thank you.
