Kurt Robinson-Double Lung Transplant

Donation protected
Kurt Robinson, 30, is in a desperate fight for his life. He desperately needs another double lung transplant and his health has taken a sharp turn for the worst this last week. Kurt is currently on the donor listing for a new set of lungs. Kurt's amazing pregnant wife, Lisa, is by his side every step through this challenging journey. Kurt and Lisa's family is growing by two feet. Lisa's 22 weeks pregnant with their first child, a son to be born in June. Friday Kurt took a turn for the worst; struggling to breathe, having coughing fits, and vomiting without much of a break. His breathing clearly sounded like there was fluid in his lungs. Lisa was concerned about the possibility of pneumonia or possibly his aspirated while coughing. Saturday morning it sounded like he was breathing through water. Despite bad weather, they got Kurt to the hospital. The doctors determined he has pneumonia which is very serious for Kurt's current condition, placing him in ICU. He also had sepsis (an infection in the blood stream). The medical staff put him on several antibiotics. The hospital that performed Kurt's first double lung transplant is at Stanford in Palo Alto, California. It was determined, due to the severity of Kurt's condition, that as soon as it was possibly Kurt would be taken by a fixed wing Life Flight to Stanford to be at a hospital with a higher level of care. Monday Kurt was flown to Stanford and Lisa went down with him.

Currently, Kurt is on a ventilator to assist his breathing. He recently had a gastric tube placed to help him put on some weight. Since he has been vomiting and with the risk of aspiration the doctors are placing a new tube into the jejunum (a part of the small intestine) where he won't be able to vomit the nourishments he desperately needs. Kurt is awake some and very uncomfortable. The ventilator is bothering him so the doctors want to put in a tracheotomy tube through his throat which would replace the ventilator and hopefully make Kurt more comfortable. Despite all the pressure Lisa has on her she has been trying to leave updates on Kurt's blog which the link is in this text if you wish to follow it. Lisa's top priority is Kurt so there haven't been updates every day but I know when she has news she's been trying to keep everyone updated.

Please keep Kurt and Lisa in your thoughts and prayers. Also please keep Kurt and Lisa's parents, extended family, and close friends who are dealing with a lot right now as well. Right now they can use any positive thoughts, encouragement, and well wishes as possible. With Kurt being transferred to Stanford it has put a financial hardship on the family. This site is being set up to help the Robinson family with their medical bills, travel costs, and additional expenses. Please help support them through this. Even if you can't afford a lot, every little bit helps. Please feel free to share this on all your social networking sites to reach as many people as possible. Your financial and emotional support helps to take a little bit of the stress off of the Robinson's.

Thanks Everyone. If you have any questions regarding this site, fundraiser or anything like that please don't hesitate to give me a call at (415) [phone redacted] or email me at [email redacted].
