Please help me raise £500 for orphanages, disability centres, villages, and shelters for street children in Vietnam. The funds will be used for educational and medical/surgical costs, to aid and enable families to cultivate their own food and help to provide a steady income, as well as to support the villages and help to get children off the streets and back into school. Giving the children and families a better chance in life is a huge goal the funds will help meet.
To raise £500, I am going to take on Tough Mudder - a hardcore 12 mile-long obstacle course designed by the Special Forces with my colleagues from Fleetwood Architectural Aluminium to test all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie on the 25th October, 2014. Regarded as the toughest event in the world, I'm undergoing a strict fitness regime as well as a change of diet to be in the best possible condition for it in the hopes of raising as much money possible. My focus and overall goal is giving back and giving hope to those disadvantaged in Vietnam, sending them a vibe of love and aspiration for the future despite being thousands of miles in separation.
I grew up in poverty and I often wished someone would help me and give me a chance in life. Now I want to be the guy to provide an answer to their prayers in Vietnam. From a very young age I was brought up to appreciate everything I had, even when others laughed at my possessions. As I grew up, I took an interest in the Vietnam War and soon began to learn of the aftermath in the form of Agent Orange. This toxic herbicide sprayed during war and resulted in 400,000 people being killed or maimed and 500,000 children being born with birth defects.
For the last few months, I have worked closely with Fundraise For Vietnam charity to support the underprivileged children in Vietnam and in doing so, I have gained a unique perspective on life that helped me understand that so long as love and affection are being spread throughout communities, monetary/materialistic things are of no value.
