Nia Toliver - All American Rugger
Donation protected
This is Nia Toliver! I am a top prospect for the 2016 United States Olympic team in rugby. It's a costly but worthy undertaking. Please donate to my cause.
Check out past interviews on KABC, KNBC, KTLA and Fox Sports Net documenting our international travels, all made possible by donors like you.
I enjoy learning at my school, View Park Prep High School because the world is my classroom. In 2013, I went to Beijing, Shanghai & Hong Kong, pitting my skills against several Chinese Olympic development teams. We had good success with this trip and it culminated with us winning the plate final at the Hong Kong 7s. 2014 I traveled to england and france and played in New Zeland for 4 months. This is a big deal overseas and I want to help bring this awesome sport to Los Angeles and The USA in a major way. The China, England and france trip helped all of my teammates and I view life from the perspective of being Citizens of the World and as Rugby Ambassadors for our community and country.
"Red, White, Black and Blue II, Lost and Found in China" (segment clip below) is the documentary that memorialized our time in China and will help you to understand how and why we got involved in this fantastic program.
RWBB2 Highlights
Here is the main reason I am in need of immediate funding. Once we return from the UK on April 7th, I am slated to go to Christchurch, New Zealand for a 20 week Homestay beginning on April12th. I will be attending Burnside High Leadership Academy, a Mecca for U20 rugby players from around the world. I will attend classes full time Monday thru Friday and I will be training daily with games being played on Wednesday with Burnside and on Saturday with the University of Canterbury. It is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. They've waived thousands of dollars in tuition oand fees but I am still required to pay close to $6000 in Homestay costs and round trip airfare. My school said they would match funds dollar for dollar up to the $6000 needed, which left me with a $3000 balance to raise. With your help we can get there.
The videos below show how hard I work out on the field, track and in the gym
Ladder Drills
2014 SoCal Griffins Girls 40M Dash Finals
Resistance Band Training
Squats/Weight Training
Powercleaning/Weight Training
100M Dash
