This is the story of David. A brilliant, talented & kind man who happens to be homeless.
David walked into our lives in early July 2014. He had created some beautiful sketches that he wanted to show us at Earth 2 Earth and Michigan Mittens
David is 58 years old and has worked for some of the largest Ad Agencies in the Country. He has created story boards for Vlasic, Chrysler, Chevrolet and many others. When our economy took a turn for the worse, David lost his job. Eventually he lost his home and car. David had been homeless for over 2 years.
In the fall of 2014 we found a rental home for David. He was able to move in and start to heal from the emotional and physical wounds that come from living on the street.
Thankfully, David was hired to do several contract projects for Google, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Detroit Tigers and several others over the last few years to help with rent, utilities and everyday expenses. Although ful-time employment has always been the goal, we are so very grateful for each and every opportunity.
Now the rental home that has kept him safe for the last three years has been sold, the contract jobs are few and far between and time is of the essence to move David to a safe place to continue to heal and grow.
We have found a potential living arrangement for him, but we sure could use some help from you to assure his safety and well being. Here are some of David's immediate needs:
- Monthly rent @ $450 + ulitilities
- Full Size Bed
- Non perishable food items
- Clothing - pants 44x32, 18.5 collar shirt or 2XL
- Used car ( David does have a drivers license)
He is not asking for anything for free. He wants to work and earn his way back above poverty. We feel blessed to have met David and feel that everything happens for a reason. The reason will reveal itself....in time.

Homelessness is a vicious cycle. For most, it is not a choice. There are many underlying issues that many of us cannot understand.
