Building a house for Jose Abraham in Honduras.

Video tour of Jose Abraham's house before Hurricane Eta and Iota destroyed it.

I first met Jose Abraham in 2016 on the top of an open dumpsite in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. At that time, we was living in a small hut inside the trash dump with his father. I did not reconnect with him again until 2019 when I was looking to provide educational scholarships there with my non-profit SHOOT FOR CHANGE with the program, The ISWA Scholarship Programme. I had already known Katherine and Jeony who created an amazing non-profit called Grace Honduras and I had gone to Honduras to collaborate with them about scholarships. Ironically, I recognized one of the children as Jose Abraham and wanted to help him immediately. I came to find out that his father was murdered by the Mara Salvatrucha gang that  controls the dumpsite. His body was even left near the school. Jose Abraham's mother and him were granted permission to build a small house on another person's property outside the dumpsite. It was constructed of all materials found in the dumpsite. It had been in my heart and intention to buy them a small property and build them a new solid house. However, the COVID-19 pandemic made that very difficult as my own scholarship program had suffered financially this year. Then in November, 2020 two major hurricanes hit San Pedro Sula; Eta and Iota. This wiped away their home completely and now Jose Abraham and his mother are homeless and are sleeping on the floor of the classroom of his school.

That is how I have come to Go Fund Me because I am making a goal to raise funds to buy property and build their home. The area and house plans are all set and Jeony and Katherine will be administrating all of it. I just need to raise $3500 to accomplish this.

Please if you find it in your heart to help me on this mission, I promise you that we can make this happen for them. Jeony have been involved in many construction projects in the past and has worked with dumpsite communities in both Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula for decades. I have complete confidence in his capability and passion to get the job done. Plus, he has chosen a place very close to Jose's school.

Building this home will change their life in so many positive ways. Thank you so much for helping us on this mission.

Many blessings to you all,
