What is a Silent Disco?
A silent disco is an event focused primarily on dancing and appreciating music. Participants are given wireless headphones which listen directly to the sounds being broadcasted by the performance group. There is no noise and no musical distortion caused by massive live sound setups.
Event Description: Following current trends showcased by some of the largest music festivals around the globe, the VibeTribe along with various other RSOs and local businesses will be hosting a Silent Disco at the Illinois State University Milner Plaza featuring a showcase of ISU Artists and DJs. Along with its musical selection, the Silent Disco will also involve the visual art community by featuring multiple light shows designed by university students, as well as a collection of student works and installations that will be used to promote the show before its launch. The event, as well as the performance, will also be recorded and a recap video will be available for streaming after the show has ended.

*Facilitate a fun, exciting, sober activity for ISU students and faculty to enjoy.
*Provide a place for artists of both the visual and performing arts to showcase their work.
*Promote contributing RSO events .
*Give ISU an event unique to it's campus.

By reaching out to other ISU student uorganizations, VibeTribe is attempting to bring together the entire arts community at Illinois State University in a way that has never been attempted. By auditioning musicians, visual artists, light and sound engineers, and performing acts, we hope to create a forum for artists to network as well as have fun. This particular event will accomplish all aspects of that mission, all while producing a performance that will be an event that ISU can call its own. We believe in the students that attend this school, and we are striving to give them an opportunity to showcase their talents.
