Who are we as people if we don't give them the best learning and creative opportunities possible? At Isthmus Montessori Academy, we strive to cultivate and expand the minds of children to help them reach their greatest potential--these children are learners, explorers, touchers, doers, thinkers, players, wonderers, problem solvers, peacemakers, imagine-a-tors, creative-a-tors...they are whatever they choose to be. They need the freedom to express those facets, though.
Our vision is to help all children of the Madison area reach their highest and unique potentialities. To accomplish this, we seek to reflect and inspire the true diversity of our urban setting and to encourage a society of compassionate, responsible, and productive leaders.
Our mission is to provide an aid to life through a holistic AMI Montessori Education; helping children achieve their greatest success, develop independence, and live with genuine kindness to others and the world.
We strive to help children grow into adults that will make choices that change the world, and we need your help!
Our school is a small nonprofit and the costs of maintaining the quality of education expected of an AMI accreddited institution are high. We aim to provide affordable tuition to our families, which means we must search for funding through grants and, ultimately, you. Any contribution you can make is not only appreciated, but directly used to improve the caliber and extent of education for your children. Your contribution is an investment in both the present and the future.
Here is a breakdown of some of the costs for Montessori materials for one Toddler Classroom:
Montessori Bells Setup: $1,111.90
Monsam Portable Toddler Sinks: $2,666.68
Toddler toilet and plumbing: $5,000
Toddler Chairs (8): $716
Toddler Tables (4): $458
Hand Washing Table: $293.50
Dish Washing Table: $384.90
Materials Cabinets (3): $1,726.50
Bookshelves (2): $1,266.1

We have THREE classrooms to furnish, provide materials, staff, clean, renovate, and maintain all of the state, federal, and health standards to make our school exemplary. So, let's do the math: at about $32,000 per classroom and three classrooms to complete, we expect to spend nearly $100,000.
