Hoyne Park Mural
Donation protected
The Hoyne Park Mural is a project advanced in the Spring of 2014 by the Hoyne Park Advisory Council, and local businesses. The mural is a Public Art project intended to commemorate and radiate from park activities, the park little league team, McKinley Park neighborhood history, industrial improvements, local culture, mural arts and a generational dialogue of families at work and play. This effort has arisen in a neighborhood once troubled by violence and crime.
This is a great opportunity to participate in a project to better our neighborhood in a big way. Over the past few weeks we have been organizing weekly wall preparation nights to clean up the wall to be primed. It really has made such a huge appearance difference already. Over the past few months a great deal of work has been completed on the mural project, including weekly volunteer prep and clean up days as well as several large donations from local businesses including Behr Paint and BridgeNet Solutions. Alderman Cardenas' office has also been supportive of this project, both monetarily and with labor assistance.
