For Those of you following the Judea and the Hill family, she made us all proud today and walked across the Mead Hall stage. Congratulations Judea, We are all so proud of you! Take a look at the smiles on the Hill Families face! Please continue to pass along the link.
Mother's Day is difficult for those of us who have lost our own, but I know it was especially difficult this year for the Hill Family. They are finally able to have the closure they need next week Sunday. Please continue to pass this link along. We are almost at our goal.
One week today from Graduation. The Hill Family will be on campus watching Judea walk across the stage. The very next day they are scheduled to have a memorial service for Valerie. Please continue to help them give her the send off she deserves. Continue to forward the link. Thank You for all of your support
Hi All, I'm excited to report that Judea is back on campus to finish up her work and take her finals. She was given the opportunity to to have more time or take an incomplete, but she is determined to walk down that path and across the Mead porch knowing she earned her degree.
Please continue to support the Hill Family and share this link. We are a little more than half way to our goal. Please help us achieve it.
A very special note to You from Judea Ashley Hill:
My mother was our backbone. She supported every decisions and choice that we made with our lives. She was always a praying woman and had a personal relationship with God. It was a relationships with God that I know got her and us through the worst of times. My mother never let our circumstances get the best of us. She refused to let us wallow in pity for things we didn't have that we wanted. She would remind me and my sisters that there are people who are doing so much worse than us and that we should appreciate what we have and not take it for granted. Sometimes she would randomly send me words of encouragement right when I needed it most, like she knew that I was stressed out or upset. She was such a selfless woman and was always concerned about the people around her. My mother loved so hard and big and never gave up on people. Her love was endless and she never asked for anything in return. Even when people were undeserving she still gave them all of her heart. There is nothing that can replace my mother but I have my memories, her words, and my family and my family to keep me thriving and remaining strong.
On behalf of my family I would like to thank all of you for all you are doing to help us. This loss was completely sudden and unexpected. There is no way to prepare for a loss but your help and contributions are making it so much easier to bare. Thank you from the Hill's.
A message from Michael: Judea has been like a sister to me ever since I met her last year. She considers me the brother that she never wanted, but still got. When I got the news that her mother had passed away all I thought about was how much her mother loved her and all that her mom meant to her. Earlier in the day last Friday I was setting up for the First Annual Picnic and I remember seeing "Mamma Hill" rolling her way onto campus. Little did I know that it would be one of the last times that I saw her.
Sadly I have gone through exactly what Judea and the rest of her family is going through, and I am able to be there for them every step of the way giving them the support that they need, and more specifically the support that not everyone can give them.
Judea like I said is a sister to me! Please help support her and her family as they go through this tough time. Anything helps.
I just spoke to Judea and she is determined to walk down the famous Drew Path for Commencement and make her Mom proud. We already know how proud Valerie is of her beautiful girls....it was written all over her. Please continue to support the Hill Family. The expenses keep increasing. We are doing our best to make this as easy as we can on the Family. They are so very grateful. The love and support is amazing! Thank You!
I wasn't quite sure how to write this, but I'm going to give it a try....I feel truly honored that Judea reached out to me at the most horrific moment of her life. I feel blessed to have been able to be the one to offer her and her sister some comfort at the worst time possible. Judea is known for her smile and laughter and this particular evening only hours from seeing her Senior Art Show and moments from watching her sing beautifully at a Student Run Program called After Hours, her life as she knew it changed.
I have amazing colleagues who jumped into action with anything that could be done to make this tragedy any easier on the Hill Family and Judea is very lucky to have what she calls her Brother Michael to be able to hug and hold her at the hospital.
An amazing friend and true angel, Drew Alum DJ Wright has been able to be a wealth of knowledge and an amazing resource in helping the Hill Family arrange a peaceful farewell to their beloved Valerie.
I can't Thank everyone enough for the out pouring of love and support. Please continue to pass this link along so we can achieve our goal. Every little bit helps.
Take a look at the Hill Girls...
Ariel, Judea and Alexis (respectively). These beautiful young ladies always have a smile on there face, the smile that they most definitively got from their beautiful Mother, Valerie.
Valerie Hill passed suddenly on Friday, May 3, 2013 leaving behind her beloved family and friends. Losing her so quickly and without warning was a terrible shock to all those whose lives she touched with her love, warmth, and generosity of spirit. As her family struggles to come to terms with their grief we have come together to try and help with final expenses and funeral costs. Though cut far too short, Valerie's life was one of love and devotion to those who she loved, we hope that we can help in some small way by alleviating any financial burden we can. Please consider a small donation to honor Valerie's life and the impact she made on the people around her.
