Ten years ago, I had a dream of becoming an OB/GYN, but due to pressing financial responsibilities, I was forced to pursue other options that would provide a more immediate fiscal gain.
I have since self-funded a BA from Providence College, and am only one semester from completing a Master's degree in Library and Information Studies at the University of Rhode Island.
Recent events combined with intense soul searching have reignited my passion for obstetrics and gynecology, and have instituted a vehement interest in bioethics and public health. I realized that I could combine my interests and pursue a doctoral degree in public health at a leading US university, which I plan to later employ as I run a nonprofit focused on healthcare ethics, education, and advocacy geared toward healthcare consumers.
This process requires funding, which is why I am earnestly asking for your help. Any donation sincerely aids in making a difference in my ability to follow my dreams and make a sincere impact in the field of public health. I am armed with the ambition and academic ability necessary to succeed in a rigorous academic environment, and am now only lacking the funding required to jumpstart my doctoral education and eventual professional endeavors.
