HANK THE HERO Shelter Dog needs your HELP!
On Monday, September 29th, two workers at the Texarkana Animal Care & Adoption Center were brutally attacked by 2 dogs that they were securing that had just been owner surrendered. Hank was in the closest pen, and somehow opened his gate and flew to the rescue of the workers. He charged the attacking dogs, who turned to attack him, and allowed the two men to get away, regroup, and recapture them. He was severely injured, and is recieving medical treatment at Stateline Animal Hospital. We need pledges and donations towards his emergency care! This poor dog was hit by a car, brought into the shelter with a knotted garden hose imbedded in his neck, was at the top of the euthanasia list, and STILL saved these 2 men.
He is a HERO and deserves to LIVE. He has been rescued by Faithful Friends Dog Rescue, Texarkana .
He is currently being assesed, and we will have a better idea of the cost of his care. We are currently operating on a low ball-park figure. Thank you!

Hank is now in the care of our Director, a d doing well! He has never been a pet, he is adjusting quickly, and forging what we suspect tk be his first human bond. We are addressing his health and mobility problems, and hope to have a clearer picture of his future prospects and adoptability soon. Thank you all SO much for your support!
