Vets Resource Mural Project

Help us support the voices of disabled and distressed veterans through the expression of art.

 The intent of the Veterans Resource Program’s (VRP) mural project is to provide a healing foundation for veterans through an art form and honor one of our former residents, Jaime Garcia, who passed away on September 10, 2014. The mural, featuring all the branches of the military, will also show the community how positive veteran-created art can uplift an entire community.

Jaime Garcia, like many of VRP’s residents, was homeless, but through his own determination and help from VRP, he made a success of his life. He went back to school and received a degree and went on to become a certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. We lost our dear brother September 10th, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. This mural is not only a gift to the veterans in Northern California; it will also serve as a celebration of Jaime’s life.

We Need You! Why Donate? Why Now?

 We’ve begun major work on the mural, but we need funding to complete this important mural. Your generous donation will help us purchase all mural art supplies such as paint and brushes and give the artists, Ann Reesman and Paasha Evins, both veterans, a stipend in appreciation for donating their time and talents. 

 Your support of this mural project is a major step in furthering VRP’s mission to provide relief to the poor, the distressed, or under privileged military veterans of North California. VRP provides housing services for homeless veterans, employment placement, resources for veterans’ benefits, and higher education opportunities. VRP has helped more than 100 veterans since it was founded.
