GROOVIN' IN THE PARK
Saturday, Aug 4th ~ 2018 (2pm until 8:30pm event), It's park party time! About The Music - Oakland is once again bringing you another daytime park party right next to the water, at the beautiful MLK Shoreline Regional Park in Oakland.
Aloha everyone! We’ve been coming together, for many years, to share and enjoy wonderful music at this daytime park party. The park location is beautiful and right next to the water! All are welcome, and yes, even the kids! GITP happens only once a year and it costs us a lot of money to put these together. Roughly $1500 to cover the fees. So, please help us pay back these fees so we can all have a great time once again this year, and continue to do them in the future.. These fees include: park reservation fees, special event permit fees, insurance, added garbage disposal fees (because of the large crowd), special guest dj pay; sound, gear, and generator rentals, etc. We thank you kindly, and very much appreciate anything you can give as a donation. Every dollar donated will go directly into this event. Much love!!

** This year we have a view of the post game fireworks show from the nearby A's baseball game at the Coliseum!! Feel free to stay and watch but we must be out of the park by the 10pm curfew. =)
Attendees - PLEASE DONATE:
Suggested $5 - $10 minimum donation to help us pay back the expensive fees needed to put on this event. Our 2018 costs run about $1500, so if everyone donates something, we are covered.
** Want one of our shirts with our new logo?? Donate a minimum of $25, and also leave your size/gender in the comments section on the website.. And we’ll have it for you to pick up at the park. "All shirts are black w/white logo & run small so, it is recommended for requesting one size bigger if you are between sizes and/or unsure."
::LOCATION:: 7250 Doolittle Drive in Oakland, Ca
(Very close/about 1 mile - from the Oakland airport 'entrance'). You will see two parking lots when you arrive.. "Shoreline Center "AND" Boat Launch Area". If one fills up - use the other. They are both ours to use.
*Overflow parking will be located on the park/grass side of the main-road. To be ONLY used AFTER these two parking lots are full/closed. If parking on overflow/main-road - be sure to park fully OFF of the shoulder on the dirt/pavemet, far away as can be from the yellow solid line on the roads' edge.

**DON'T GET CITED BY PARK POLICE... Check it:
- Dogs are allowed "ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES ONLY!" -No exceptions.
- Beer and wine allowed ONLY (no hard alcohol glass bottles out to be seen in park)!
- No drinking & no open containers allowed "in the the parking lots!"
- Smoking anything is not allowed at the park, but if you must - please do it away from everyone respectfully, and "throw all butts in trash."
- Please help us keep this park cleaner than when we arrived so we are all welcomed back next year. Take everything you bring, out; "leave no trace."

Because of very high costs (park and permit, fees, sound, djs, insurance) to continue these annual park parties, this will be our only "park" party this year, so be sure to make it!
