Fund Performing Arts

Dear Friends and Donors,

I want to personally thank you for your continued support of my journey as an artist, arts ambassador and educator. I have successfully completed my Bachelor of Music degree in string performance from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Now, I am pursuing an exciting internship and opportunity with Dissonance Dance Theatre in Washington, D.C., where I will study contemporary ballet and afro-modern dance under the direction of Shawn Short. I ask that you continue to support me as I strive to be a blessing to my community and share the benefits of the performing arts with the world. This fund will assist me in purchasing a cello of my own as I study in Washington D.C., as well as helping fund my dream organization "Living Roses School of Performing Arts". Excerpts from Garden Spices Magazine - In spite of his ambition, Welch has met challenges. "I never imagined I'd finish my cello degree without a cello." He explains, "My first cello and electric piano (both gifts) were stolen from me junior year. It felt like someone had stolen my heart, my talent and all my hard work. Now I'm playing on a borrowed cello from the Joy of Music school." Still, Welch believes “God will provide a way” for him to receive another cello. “It’s not just my craft but my only source of income. How else would I make money to survive in DC.” At this writing, Welch is setting up a Go Fund Me, and from what I have seen and heard from him, I’m all in. To enrich under-resourced communities and to address issues such as adolescent crime and child poverty through engaging youth in cultural activities and fine art. In addition, Living Roses School of Performing Arts will strive to share and promote with dignity, the experience and self-worth of its ambassadors and educators.
