Expenses for Ginger & Jordan

Jordan Fawcett is 21 and AMAZING!!!!

He has Epilepsy, and has overcome huge obstacles in his life. His seizures started when he was 12 and from the age of 12-18 they were literally almost every night. 6-8 seizures per week.

His seizures are very rare, because they are only in his sleep. Narcoleptic seizures. He has been a case study all over the world. He’s pretty famous in the epilepsy world.

He went back and forth to Emory for tests, to see if he was even a candidate for the surgery to remove the part of the brain where the disease had formed. Not every one has that option. But Jordan looks at it as a blessing.

They finally set the date for his 1st brain surgery in July 2011, where they performed a major craniotomy and removed the skull, laid a grid, sewed him up, induced seizures, found the spot, opened him back up and removed that part of the brain. However, they could not find a portion of the disease. So once again it was back to testing. Jordan 1 month after major brain surgery started his freshman year of college at Reinhart University.

They were pretty sure that it was on the hippocampus region of the brain so they went back in June, 2014 with depth electrodes. They ruled out that region.

Now, here he goes again, to Emory for yet another brain surgery to place more depth electrodes in a different region, hoping and praying they will find it and remove the disease. His chances of being seizure free and no or low medication is 85%. That’s HUGE in Jordan’s book! So he’s going for it.

Surgery is set for July 1st.

As you can imagine, travel costs for Ginger and medical bills for Jordan are piling up and have been for years.  It is time that our community, who loves Ginger so much, comes together to help her and her family get through this next surgical journey with a little help from all of us.  No donation is too small and every dime helps them keep their head above water financially.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read Jordan and Ginger's story and for your prayers and donations.
