Our Volkswagen Jetta was rear ended

After our intial crash this year, we got a new car (VW) and then it was rear ended just last week... Talk about terrible luck!!! The frame was bent, the left tail light was torn completely out and so there is no left tail light or turn signal! The bumper is falling off, the trunk is destroyed on the inside, and wont stay closed... The trunk is even pushed forward, almost into the rear window. There is damage to the left-rear side of the wall...
The person who hit us didn't have insurance, and our insurance won't cover the cost of repairs, as the cost of repairs cost "More than the car is worth". The estimated repairs are about $6,000, because of the framework that needs to be done. They need to, essentially, remove the entire back portion of the car and rebuild it, and repaint it. It's a hassle. An expensive hassle.
The person could not offer to pay much to repair our car, and we had to accept only $500 for the damage to the vehicle.... The car insurance only gave us $1,500 as a settlement. No mechanics that we can find in the area will accept any sort of payment plan or collateral.
This is our only mode of transportation. We can't rely on friends or family this time. The car still runs, the engine wasn't damaged, but it isnt safe. As I said before, it is missing its left turn signal and tail light. Part of the frame by the rear left tire is pushed forward, and the metal grinds against the tire when we brake and turn, which we were informed can eventually rupture the tire. Without a car, my fiance cannot work. His employeer requires him to have his own registered vehicle in order to work. Without him working, we have no income, and thus no more home. It's a pretty hard situation.
We desperately need to get this car fixed ASAP, but us saving up $6,000 alone will take us about 3-4 years, which we just don't have. We have tried taking out multiple personal loans from different companies, and have recieved multiple denial letters for a "thin credit file." I don't know where else we can go from here.. So I turn to you. If you can, in any way, help, please! Do.
We would be ever so grateful. Without this car, we are absolutely nothing as we cant work, or get around anywhere. He cannot take the bus to work, it is not acceptable to his employeer.
