Helping Hungry People in Delaware County—almost a million people in the Delaware Valley face hunger every day. Hungry people include working families who were hit hard by the recession, individuals, women and children, and seniors trying to make ends meet.
Did you know about 27% of Philadelphians live below the poverty line and that that number has risen over the past year? One in every three children live in poverty. Each year, more than 900,000 individuals are at risk of food insecurity in the Delaware Valley. This crisis is happening in the urban centers, rural communities and our own backyards.
Donations will be given to Philabundance to strategically procure and distribute emergency food to areas of need!
