A staff member at a gift shop at Walt Disney World overheard my husband and I fretting about transportation the next morning at 6 am to the airport. It was 11 pm. She was done with her shift—all she had to do was turn and go. But she offered us assistance. Because of her kindness, we became Facebook friends.
Terri Dyer is David Dyer’s wife. She is a strong woman who juggles family, work and college classes. David served our country in the Marine Corps. Now he supports and loves his family of four. He began losing weight severely and having medical complications. Doctors have diagnosed him with debilitating ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s Disease. This good man is suffering and very stressed.
Terri is so close to completing her marriage and family counseling education but has resumed working more at Disney World, entry level jobs, to help with medical expenses. In a couple of years, she will lose her college credits if she fails to complete her program which includes student internships.
One of their girls was severely ill with a life-threatening illness for over a year. Terri has several chronic health illnesses too. Now they have $50,000 in medical bills and no way to get ahead.
I knew we could not make a difference with total funds, but then I remembered GoFundMe. These four people are part of America’s best. Terri’s family came from Vietnam as wartime refugees. They saw the American dream come true.
Now all four of the Dyer family give of their time and talents in their megachurch’s outreaches, having served Jesus Christ through performing arts, music, media, pregnancy center, children's ministry, and helping others in need. David played lead trumpet in the orchestra before his current illnesses prevented him from doing so. Terri played first violin until a work injury prevented her from doing so. Their two teen girls are excellent students and committed to school activities too.
